Just for the record back in November 2011 I had an article published with Ezine Articles which I entitled "Dying To Be Me" http://ezinearticles.com/?Dying-To-Be-Me&id=6683987 sometime later my article disappeared from their directory. I just assumed it had been moved, perhaps to one of their sub directories until a few weeks ago when I saw a post which someone had added to their wall on facebook a post about a book entitled "Dying To Be Me" which was published the following year. Of course I immediately thought that's the title of my article! Out of curiosity I then wrote to Ezine Articles asking what had happened to my published article & was told that it had been removed due to it having been brought to their attention that the article was recreating and using content from another author. I was astonished & upset that anyone would make such a claim against me also I had never heard of the author in question I naturally wanted proof of any such claim as I would never steal anyone else's copyright & if I quote another author I always give credit to them or state source unknown.
I further enquired to Ezine Articles & they said "After an investigation, it does not appear you own the copyright to the content of the article and were using content/stories from her book." " We are not able to reinstate the article". All this having happened without any communication with me! I have subsequently contacted the publisher & the author of the book, the publisher of the book says it must be some mistake as they did not approach Ezine Articles about this.
I have therefore written to Ezine Articles to request my article to be reinstated or to remove all my articles from their database as I hadn't done anything wrong. I received confirmation this morning that my article (as per the link which I added above) has now been reinstated. I have also since learned that titles of work by themselves cannot be copyrighted or maybe it's only regarded as stealing if someone uses another person's content (as in body of text from a publication or shared work) along with a title. A lot of folks think when things are published, shared on the internet it is all fair game & a free for all & some don't even consider it stealing at all. Perhaps the best way of ensuring this doesn't happen is just not to share or have your work published on the internet at all at least not until it is in hardback or paperback print.
I am interested in hearing anyone else's stories; if this has happened to you let me know.
My activities on this site and The People's Trust page on facebook are evolving new website coming soon.
Whilst attending to her garden an aspirant asked of her "everywhere I see someone better than I, better educated, better looking, more popular, more friends, more money, how can this be?" the wise woman looked loving at her charge and replied "you only get what you need!"
The whole point of mystery & the unknown is that maintaining this approach to life is tantamount to fully living if one knows everything all already why bother going there.
Fun, love & laughter what more could anyone want of which no-one is truly denied.
No-one has to protect anyone else's beliefs they can do that by themselves - probably best to leave sleep those who's beliefs they wish to keep.
When things go wrong & you no longer want to play remember there's always another day!!!
A little ditty to help you on your way - when all is lost & there seems no hope here's a ditty that may help you cope. In every moment there's a chance for things to change and the waters calm. However bad things look right now in an instant something comes to show you how, so live and learn and laugh all the way through because in the end there is only YOU!
No-one should ever do what doesn't feel right for them, it's only by doing what feels right that one comes to know who they are.
